After Osaka, I had one more free day with my girl friend (before she had to work) so she brought me Arashiyama to see the famous bamboo forest.

To me the forest was just a small attraction, whatever that was surrounding that area was the real highlight of the day. The streets, houses, food, snacks, personalised chopsticks souvenirs, ladies in kimono, the river and the mountains omg, the view was breathtaking! I fell so hard in love with Kyoto that day. The weather must have played a part because it was sunny yet so cooling to walk in. This was April. I have to say spring is the best time to visit South Korea and Japan for sure.
