ate pasta for 3 consecutive days and i was STILL craving for pasta on christmas day. felt like a fat carbo pig.
i used to really like the garden lasagna at ps cafe but i think they changed the recipe or something! :(
d's birthday brunch at spruce!
quite a lovely place.
pasta AGAIN. in an interesting shade of green.
i was eyeing the carrot walnut cake but because it's so big and i'm already quite full, i decided to order the chocolate tart which was much smaller BUT, i changed my mind after the waiter walked away and ordered the carrot cake instead because..
I SHOULDN'T EAT SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE IT'S SMALL. I SHOULD EAT SOMETHING I LIKE, EVEN IF I CAN'T FINISH IT. RIGHT?
and of course.. more pasta on christmas eve. nom nom nom.
on a totally random and separate note, i have to tell a little story about my sister.
part i:
she got me the opi sparkle-icious from the burlesque collection for christmas and she was supposed to pass it to me today when she came over for dinner. so 2 days ago she asked me in a cheeky tone "i'm bringing your sparkle-icious on wednesday. but can i use it first?" (HAHA) i said okay because i just painted my nails with another new color.
part ii:
do you remember me tweeting about my sis making fun of my orange nail color? once i painted my nails bright orange and my sis laughed at me and asked me "eh, you ate curry? hahaha!"
ok it was quuiteee funny because my sister is full of rubbish, i'm just like her!
part iii:
so my sis was just here earlier for dinner and mom cooked curry. delicious and spicy curry. yum.
guess what?!
she ate with her fingers (nails painted with sparkle-icious) and now the nails of her thumb and index finger is tinted with a shade of YELLOW, more 'golden' compared to her other nails.
so i burst into laughter and asked her
"EH? YOU ATE CURRY AH?"
wahahahahahaha.
the end!

donna carmela is the most italian italian restaurant i have ever been to. everyone's like family there and the ambience was very very very lively.
the parma ham was super yummy and that platter of cheese was pretty interesting. we wanted to know the names of the cheese so we asked host no. 1.
"this is cheese number 1, cheese number 2, cheese number 3 and so on....", he said with much humour.
so we asked host no. 2.
"this is something-O, another thing-O, something-O...*continues with italian names ending with O*", like valentinO, oreganO, bellagiO, you get the drift.
so we all just laughed, exchanged a look amongst ourselves and continue eating the cheeses, one of which tasted like horse stable. yes, YUCK. exactly how it smells like when you're at the zoo, but you taste it in your mouth. HAHA.
i think it's really nice to have a birthday dinner with just your close friends, talk over wine and food even if they're from different points in your life.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
dempsey is one of the places i consider as a 'cannot go without a car' place but guess what?! jo and i managed to find our way from chinatown to dempsey by bus!! and a super long walk from the bus stop to blk 8d where the beauty emporium is, which also happens to be the furthest building in dempsey from where we started walking.
we went to the beauty emporium, where the spa esprit group house all their businesses in little sections like strip and browhaus, to collect the C. lucky draw prizes! we'll be going there again in january for something else so stay tuned!
then it was our double-date christmas dinner! a rather unconventional christmas dinner i would say. no dim lights, no napkins, no fork and spoon and polite wait staff. but it was AWESOME. we waited for an hour for the first dish to be served and when it was the creamy butter crab, it was worth it!
while waiting for the food to be served, d and v were talking about finance-related topics (i assume) and jo and i were playing around with the camera. so v totally had no idea what we were doing but when it was my turn, he stopped talking and gave me a 'look' which i don't know what it is... but it made me shy and awkward so the camwhoring stopped. haha!

eve, jo and i had our very first christmas dinner and gift exchange! and after which, we, of course, took like a million photos before we went home like happy little girls.
as jo and i walked down the stairs, i was telling her how this is like us walking down some party celebrating C.'s success. HAHA.
we posed, we pretended to cat-fight, we posed like online shop models and we did all sorta silly things..
i really like eve's look in that 4th pic! so cute!

yours truly,
zoukout marked the start of my string of incredible weekends (to be explained later).
it was my first ever virgin zoukout experience, most probably my last too. it was fun while it lasted.
some info/statistics about my zoukout experience:-
lightstick bangles used: approx. 16 on both hands, collectively everyone used 3 boxes x 60pcs, approx 180 in total (there were a lot of spoilt ones though! they were made in china!)
LED finger lights used: approx. 12 on both hands (some died)
alcohol consumed: 1/2 a cup of lychee champagne and a few sips of moscato got me wanting fresh air
feelings: still hate mambo
amount of water/sweat lost: possibly 1.5L
time spent getting to tiesto: 30 most horrible minutes of my life
time spent at tiesto: 1hr
vulgarities hurled: lost count
close-up celebrity encounter: 1, hossan leong. so tiny. just like me.
that pretty much sums up my zonking-out at zoukout.
zoukout survival kit: somewhere to sleep, water, plastic bag(s) and kitchen towel
sooooooo...
i love this time of december because there are so many things happening! my string of incredible weekends:
11/12 - zoukout
18/12 - very important birthday dinner
25/12 - christmas!
1/1 - new year!!
8/1 - my birthday!!!
15/1 - krabi!!!!
and of course, lotsa little fun and happening events in between. gonna start my christmas shopping tomorrow and thursday we're eating crabs!
